Church School

At St. Peter’s, we are committed to the Christian formation of our children. It is one of the most important ministries we offer. At Baptism, we commit to “continue in the apostle’s teaching, and fellowship, in the breaking of the bread, and in the prayers” (BCP, Pg. 304). It is through such actions and sacraments that we meet God and where God meets us.

This “formation” and “re-formation” as Christian disciples is a process that begins in our families of origin, expands through our family of God, and continues throughout our entire lives.

Our Church school has a coordinator who works with teachers, the Rector and additional volunteers on Sunday’s beginning at the 10:30am worship service. We use a lectionary based curriculum, “Living the Good News” that engages children of many ages.

Church School begins at 10:30a.m. in the Undercroft of the Church. Children go to join their families at the “Peace” and remain at the Service through its completion.

Every third Sunday of the month, the children join the congregation for the entire Service for Family Eucharist Sunday. At that service, children and youth participate in the worship Service as greeters, readers, ushers, and more. We want our children and youth to know they are vital members of our community and we give them opportunities to lead in worship.

We look forward every Sunday to seeing you and your child or children. Know that we are here to serve God and God’s little ones in the best way we can.
