February 7, "The Convert": a Drama, a Play, a Presentation, a Discussion

Join Debra Wise, Artistic Director, and actors from the Central Square Theater for a dramatic presentation of the conclusion of this play about a young South African girl who escapes an arranged marriage by converting to Christianity. The play is set in 1895, at time when when anti-European sentiment spread throughout the native population of Zimbabwe.

February 14, Resources for Homeless Alcoholics in Central Square

Cambridge FirstStep Outreach Team Jason Bettencourt, Outreach Coordinator & Youth Counselor for the FirstStep Outreach Team (BayCove Addiction Service), will discuss how his team works to get street people who are actively drinking to the nearby wet shelter for help. Saint Peter's has a special ministry to the homeless of Central Square.

February 21, An Overview of the Koran, Pt. 1

Imam Ismael Fenni and others from the Mosque on Prospect Street (ISBCC) will present the first of a two-part series on the holy book, the Koran: What it teaches and how it informs what Muslims think and how they pray. Saint Peter's and the ISBCC Mosque are in partnership to love and support each other. Come learn more about the faith of our Islamic brothers and sisters.

March 6, The Secret of Being Crazy

Kassi Underwood, a master’s student at the Harvard Divinity School, will lead a discussion on the spiritual discipline of the 12 Steps. Kassi will describe how the Steps influence all aspects of her her life and inspire her to share spiritual tools with everyone who wants to think and live beyond fear. Kassi is working with Saint Peter's Rector, Christian Brocato, on her field education ministry.

March 13, Singing the Psalms: Introducing the St. Martin's Psalter

Are you afraid to sing the psalms? Do you like singing them but don't really know how? Joe Tubessi, Saint Peter's Music director, will lead a workshop exploring different styles of psalm singing and introduce us to the St. Martin's Psalter, a new and exciting style of singing the psalms that St. Peter's will begin using in Easter.
