“He Gave Himself a Ransom for All” 1 Timothy 2:6
Here we see Jesus on the cross, a scene depicting his crucifixion. The phrase above him comes from Timothy, “Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time” 1 Timothy 2:6. Similar references can be found Matthew’s Gospel, “Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many” Matthew 20:28. Jesus’ death on the cross was a knowing and willing sacrifice of himself in order to save humanity from their sins.
